NIELS FRANK's (b.1962) first book of poems in 1985 (The
Instant/Oejeblikket) promised a young serious Danish talent. This
seriousness he kept until his fourth book of poems in 1996 Tabernacle
which shows a unique sense of humor and recklessness. He has published two
books of literary essays, translated John Ashbery's A Wave, and edited an
anthology Arrivals-in the 90s (Ankomster-til 90erne).

PIA TAFDRUP (b.1952) is a major Danish writer and had the honor of getting
the 1999 Nordic Council Literature Prize for The Queen's Gate
(Dronningeporten) published in 1998. This year she published Thousand Born
(Tusindfoedt), which is her tenth book of poems. Walking on Water (Over
vandet gaar jeg) is an outline og a poetics from 1991, Death in the
Mountains (Doeden i bjergene) and The Earth is Blue (Jorden er Blaa) her
two plays.

ANNEMETTE KURE ANDERSEN (b.1962) has published four books of poems. She is
a poet who masters the epigramatic form, and she is the chief editor of
Denmarks leading literary magazine Grain of Wheat (Hvedekorn). Her latest
book, published in 1997, has the telling title Epiphanies (Epifanier).
